D'Laksmi

D'Laksmi responds to a real urban paradox: strategically located high-rises in Malang sitting vacant despite prime accessibility, on a site adjacent to the Kayutangan Heritage area. Guided by the Designing for Eco-Heritage Living concept, the design combines regionalism with extending tradition, translating local material and motif into a contemporary vertical form. The building weaves hotel and mall functions into one continuous experience, connected through shared atria, courtyards, and a diagrid facade that reduces reliance on conventional columns while opening the building to daylight and cross ventilation.
